(Almasry alyoum)

Two caravans headed yesterday from central Cairo towards the Gaza Strip within the framework of a campaign mounted by the Egyptian Medical Syndicate and a number of political parties and civil society organizations to lift the siege imposed on Gaza.
The first caravans included some 300 persons from the Labor Party and activists of 'Facebook' website and the April 6th movement.Member of Kefaya Movement and professor at Helwan University Yehia el-Kazzaz said the first caravans were stunned by an ambush in Ismailia. They were arrested and forced to return with their buses. They decided to stage a sit-in before Ismailia toll station in protest against what they called 'mistreatment' on the part of security forces
