Selecting Egypt's Labor Counselors Stirs Crisis at Labor Ministry

Informed sources revealed to al-Masry al-Youm that a crisis has erupted recently as Labor Minster Ayesha Abdel Hadi appointed Raafat al-Messalawi in the post of Egypt's labor counselor in Geneva in lieu of the current counselor Sohair el-Eryan, whose tenure will end in October.
The sources said that the minister contravened the ministerial decision No. 280 of 2006, which states that labor counselors should hold the title of director-general. Messalawi does not have that title but he is on a senior level as a researcher since 1 July 2008.
